I offer manuscript consultations on a freelance basis and am particularly interested to work with clients who have a full draft that needs new eyes. As faculty at Eastern New Mexico University, I frequently work with our MA students on creative thesis projects with a focus towards making their work publishable and marketable. I specialize in poetry and creative nonfiction. I am particular interest in forms like the essay and lyric essay.

You will receive a pre-consultation conversation, a full review of your in-progress manuscript with commentary on overall arc, areas for expansion, feedback on individual component parts, and recommendations for market and, for prose manuscripts, pitch.

$500. Up to 45,000 words of prose and 90 pages of poetry.

→ Stand alone essays

You will receive page-by-page commentary on your work plus an end comment with overall notes and areas of consideration.

$50. Up to 7,000 words.

→ Poetry packet

You will receive a close reading of your poetry including line commentary and suggestions for literary magazines that may be a good fit for your work.

$25 for five pages.
